Glory Days: It’s Parnelli’s Indy 500

Parnelli Jones gently steered the Agajanian Willard Battery Special into victory lane at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, moments after winning the fastest, richest and most talked about 500-mile Memorial Day classic in history.

It was a race that is almost certain to prompt drastic design changes in the nation’s open cockpit race cars.
