Jack Hewitt makes it four USAC Silver Crown wins in the last six 4-Crown races as, after taking the lead at the midway point of the 50-circuit event, he streaked to a three-second triumph in the USAC Silver Crown Series headliner during the 1991 edition of the 4-Crown Nationals at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway.

The meter on Bob Hampshire’s, Barfield’s Gift Fruit- sponsored, Race Ready chassis, McCreary-shod No. 63 is clicking the whole way and worth another $10,000 at the end. Other than Jack’s domination the race, at times, resembled a destruction derby. Since the Silver Crowns are the last event of the three days, maybe the track has become a little too dry slick for them. Whatever the ·cause a lot of iron was bent.
