Glory Days: McCord Sprints To Richmond Cash

RICHMOND, Va. — Jason McCord dominated the inaugural Showdown at Sundown USAC National Sprint Car Series race Friday (June 25, 2004) at Richmond Int’l Raceway.

McCord started outside the front row and led the fina131 circuits of the GO-lap race, which was run in two 30-lap segments. He took the checkered flag nearly half the length of the three-quarter-mile asphalt oval ahead of runner-up Brian Tyler.
